THE GEOGRAPHICAL CENTRE
Perched up on a rocky outcrop, the village stands at the centre of the ski area, with Courchevel 1850 just 5 min away from the foot of the slopes or using a shuttle service. Courchevel Village is all about offering peace and quiet for families or groups of friends, comfort, sometimes luxury and often discretion. There is also an aqualudic complex where you can have some fun and round off an action-packed day.
ATMOSPHERE AND ARCHITECTURE
You’ll find both old and recent chalets (especially in the Brigues district) and big apartment buildings in this resort that has been modernised over the years to guarantee immediate access to the ski area, as well as accommodation offering high-end services, for traditional charm without the unnecessary frills. There are also a dozen restaurants and all the essential shops.
SKIING
Two ski lifts lead directly to La Croisette (Courchevel 1850) where skiers can then reach the entire high-mountain ski area. From one side directly to Le Praz, or higher up towards Chenus where skiers can also get to the La Tania sector. From the other side, there are successive slopes towards Biollay and then La Saulire, where skiers can then switch over to Les 3 Vallées.
FOR CHILDREN
The Aquamotion complex can be reached safely in just a few minutes on foot, for some quality time as a family (suitable for children from the age of 4 onwards). The Maison des Enfants is a daycare centre and leisure club, managed by the ESF ski school and welcomes little ones from 18 months old to 12 years old in a 300 m2 venue.
OTHER ACTIVITIES
You can get to Courchevel 1850 from here to ride down the 2 km sledging run that ends here in Courchevel Village after starting 300 m further up, with an average slope gradient of 15%. The sledging run is open until 7.15pm and the evening outings through the forest are magical, with lighting that creates a special atmosphere.
