AUTHENTIC AND SPORTY
Le Praz is picturesque and bordered by forests making it a village of contrasts. A cheese dairy and maturing cellars still serve as a reminder that the mountain is above-all a land of livestock farmers. Chalets, narrow streets, the scent of a wood-fired oven... And nearby, the superb Olympic ski jumps and the arrival of the staggering Eclipse slope, used for the 2023 World Championships.
ATMOSPHERE AND ARCHITECTURE
Just like Saint-Bon, there’s a peaceful atmosphere and a real family vibe in Le Praz. In Le Praz, you can feel the spirit of competitiveness in the air. This is where the ski area really begins. It is only logical that the village has its fair share of tourism accommodation that meets the needs of families. Countless recently built chalets are dotted throughout the natural environment, with the oldest ones at the centre, and a 4-star hotel adds a touch of luxury...
SKIING
From the village of Le Praz, you’ll have direct access to the Courchevel 1850 and La Tania ski areas. From the resort, you can also reach the rest of Les 3 Vallées ski area via the Col de la Loze. To get back down to the foot of the slopes, the red and black slopes provide the perfect opportunity to try out the iconic Jean-Blanc and Eclipse runs. If less experienced skiers would prefer to avoid them at the end of the day, they can use the Le Praz cable car, which is open from 7.45am to 11.30pm.
In Le Praz, it’s possible to try ski-touring along a marked-out trail. The Nordic ski area (free to access) guides skiers along three loop trails. There’s a green trail very close to the resort, and then red and black ones across meadows and through forests.
FOR CHILDREN
The media library in the Alpinium organises plenty of leisure activities during the school holidays: games and board games, introduction to role play, table football tournaments, etc. Another option is to head to the ESF ski school where the wide range of activities is perfectly adapted to all ages.
OTHER ACTIVITIES
If you are staying in Le Praz, don’t miss diving under the ice at Le Praz lake, a stone’s throw from the resort centre. For a spot of heritage, we recommend visiting Sainte-Madeleine chapel.
